John:
Soft light, fluffed up pose, subtle hint of green on the crown, tiny perch with nice display of the talons.
I might try a version with just a bit more contrast on the bird, not to cause blocking or heavy shadows, just to give the blacks a bit more snap.
Cheers

Beautiful exposure on the blacks.
You have a noce simple perch that shows the feet well and I like the unusual color of the BG.
Perfect HA and I like the slightly extended wing.
Randy's repost give the image a bit of pop.
Very nice frame!

Ditto Randy and Gail on the positives. I love that perch; it is a wonder that it supports the bird. For the re-post, I cleaned up a few white specks about the head and repaired some apparently damaged feathers of the greater coverts and at the primary bases ...

I love the simple image design and the reposts did add a lot to the final result. I was going to comment on cleaning up the white specks on the bird's face so I am happy to see that Artie addressed that.

Lovely view John! The head angle is excellent, and the flat light really helped even out the exposure and preserve details across the bird. Love the super clean BG too!
