From the Okavango Delta in 2018. Shot from a mokoro. I particularly like the toenail.

D500, Sigma 150-600C @ 600mm, ISO 1250, 1/2500s @ f/7.1 manual.

Bill:

Sharp, colorful, well exposed, good POV. That toenail with drip is cool. In a perfect world, wish the leaf blocking the rear leg wan't there.

Hi Bill, love the colours and the low POV shot from a mokoro is spot on, however in a depth of less than 2ft it's nice to know you can get out if required. :S3:

My only wish and you just get a hint, is to have seen more of the feet which appear to have been on steroids, they are absolutely massive!!! I think as an option you could loose a tad off the foot so there is less OOF vegetation, but that's just a personal preference.

Excellent pose! Toenail is cool. FG a tad busy but that is where they live.
Nice work.

Looks great all around. Nice low angle and framing. Detail looks quite nice as well. Like the little flowers.

I love the feeling of being in his environment from the low angle and even the touch of OOF foreground. Very intimate view of this beauty going about day. Reminds me of our purple gallinule. TFS

I love these birds. So hard to get a clean shot of them.
I really like the little yellow flowers at the bottom.
BG looks great.
Nice image!

Absolutely super colour and details are there, I quickly noticed the toe and claw - really good feature. I think also a bout 1cm of the base does help.

Beautiful capture, Bill. Great low POV we had from the mokoros. Excellent pose, and very nice detail.

I love this! Great habitat, low angle, body and head angles, colours. Yes, bummer the back leg is obstructed though, but a fine frame overall. There is a small white fleck on the body the catches my eye a bit too much, an easy 1-second fix via the Spot Removal Tool.

Thank you all. Yes, that leaf was unfortunate. Daniel, it took me awhile to find that tiny speck you refer to , but having seen it my eye does go back to it. I'll remove it from the master file.
