1DXIII 600 f4 III 1.4x III 840mm HH
1/1000 f5.6 iso5000 (Auto)
Possibly pushing the limit for detail here.
Full frame cropped from horizontal (yes I know, should have shot vertical!)
Lifted highlights, light sharpen in PS2020
NR to BG only (actually very little noise)

I like the image though I cannot see it full size - it is too tall for my 27" monitor, there is a small amount of clipping - probably occurred at jpeg resize, the image does not have an embedded color profile. (Looks good/better in PS)

Thanks Jonathon, here it is again dropped to 1500 long side and embedded profile (forgot to check that on export).

Beautiful looking birds, gorgeous colours and nice vertical comp. Nice one!

Striking birds! I'm a huge fan of bright color, so this sits well with me. I agree you're coming up on detail issues as both breasts looks a bit smudgy. I might move the birds up as the top of frame feels very empty in
both versions. A fun grab shot regardless...

I think this a very nice frame, Colin, if posted 1400 high it would look Great!

Hi Colin ... Australia is full of all sorts of colorful birds !! Remembering it was many times difficult to get close to them at times .

Very attractive species . Nice image

They really stand out against all that grey. The image quality looks quite nice.

love the interaction and the colors, the IQ is still not there. was it a tight crop?

My 1DXII wasn't that good at ISO 5000 if you needed to crop, has the III improved ?

Ari, full frame cropped from horizontal.
Two AF points on the facing bird's breast.
Still haven't sorted a better monitor arrangement so unlikely to see what you are seeing.
