This drake was flapping on a local vernal pond. The light had finally come up a bit, so ISO reasonable.

Z6 500f/4. with TC-14II. 1/1600s, f/6.3 ISO 500.

Advice and comments always appreciated.

Hi Randy, I much prefer this pose to the previous one, but each has it's own merits. Is this FF or cropped as I feel it's a bit tight at the foot and would, IMHO benefit with more below. Adding a graduate filter from the foot up would help as a Exposure adjustment. I might also add another adjustment just to burn in a bit more on the chest, not much, just say 0.15/20 to retain the brightness, but to pull a tad more detail out, however I might use a Curves blend adjustment?

Lovely. It might have been a bit better with the TC in your pocket as it is a bit too tight for me. Also, in a perfect world, the near-wing would have been fully raised and thus better lit.

Hi Randy love this one .. and a lot better than previous posting . But this is easier to make it more appealing due to its nature . Lovely color and details visible from the 1/4 to the 3/4 tones .... with some fine hands I bet you can coax out more detail for HL and SH .

Nice one and TFS Andreas

looks good Randy, there is some compression in the BG that looks like heat shimmers, wonder if you can smooth it out a bit

love the dynamic pose

Lovely frame Randy...The colours look real good here, as is the detail on the bird. Nice pose.

Nice flap and light. More room below would have been nice.

Randy, this is a fine image. Good pose and details. I like the low angle and the extended wings.

Super shot Randy, beautiful colours which are also reflected in the background. I sense also you could get a little more detail out of the chest and cheek.

I agree it is tight in the frame, but I like the image a lot for the beautiful colours, low angle, and of course the subject itself. These guys are back here, I'm pretty antsy in getting some new images once things start getting back to normal.
