Another new species for me in my garden...a Neon Cuckoo Bee resting on climbing spinach flowers.

Canon 6D, 100mm macro, 1/1000th sec, f8, iso500, diffused flash from 580EX. Cheers.

I am not surprised you said you had missed macro, this is a beautiful little bee. I like to see the compound eye, at this magnification DOF is obviously limited, my guess you could go to f11 possibly f16 (??) without too much diffraction with the 100mm macro. I like the flower and background, flash looks spot on.

Thanks Jonathan. I appreciate your feedback. Yes, I have used f11-f16 in some shots...probably would have been better in this case I guess. I'll be in the garden again tomorrow! Cheers.

Cool looking bee like those colors and that view of the patterns on the eye.
