This is my first post at BPN. I know that with all the talent at this site my image critiques will make me a better photographer.
This image was captured last weekend at the Gatorland GTG. This was from series of shots and the flash hadn't recharged so didn't flash any fill.
Canon 1D MIII, 600 f4 IS, ISO 500, f11, EC -1/3.

Looking for lots of feedback.

Thanks.
Bob

Ηι Βοb,
Welcome to BPN!
Very nice pose but the light looks a bit harsh!

Bob I really like the pose here but agree with Manos about the harsh light.

I've just done a very quick reduction of contrast on your original and I think that I've recovered some more details. What do you think?

Hey Bob!

A fine image as far as comp and action goes. As mentioned the whites are a bit hot, pretty good repost by Stephen. Perhaps a -1/2 to -3/4 for the whites would have worked beter in this case.

Keep'em coming!!!

Agreed on the light and its effects on the whites. I would also mention that I find the bird tight in the frame - the feet are very close to the edge and more room above wouldn't hurt either.

P.S. Welcome to BPN!! Looking forward to more :-)

Thanks all. I agree that the repost is better. Stephen,For my own information, what technique did you use to lower contrast-curves?
