Nice pose on this scoter. Like the detail in that water with the ripples. I would sharpen the bird some more.

Really nice, Geoffrey. I second John's suggestion of additional sharpening. Great light and pose. Love the color on the bill. TFS

I like the pose and bow wave. Bird stands out against the water. Ditto a bit more sharpening. I would also look to tone down the brightest bit of the bill as it looks little hot. I'm hoping to get down once more this year before all the birds head back. TFS

Thanks John, Aditya, and Alex. Not sure if it would take even a tad more sharpening. That might enhance the grain in the lighter blacks (didn't want to over do NR). Alex, I worked with the highlight on the bill some and agree with toning it down. BTW, it was one of those days you hope for. Two decent size groups of Harlequin, the most I've seen at a time, a number of Long-tailed ducks, quite a few Black Scoters M&F, a Common Loon or two, nice compliment of gulls, two or three Savannah Sparrow(first I've seen on the jetty), and I'm sure I'm leaving a few out.
