Something different, this was captured from my balcony, the BG is the old harbour wall, the sea behind the bird, with the sky on top.

Will:

I like the heavy snow while maintaining pretty good visibility of the gull, the sea behind.

I have mixed feelings about the dark wall below. The bird is small, and the wall is really big, and dominating the image. I might try an version with perhaps 50% of the wall cropped away, to see what you think.

I know, I just posted an image with a large white "wall" of snow below, but I think the darker component here is more overpowering.

Cheers

I have to agree with Randy on this.
The wall is really overwhelming.
I did a "browser scroll crop" and I think it looks better with a good crop from the bottom,

Randy's critique is spot-on. Love the atmosphere. A crop will certainly elevate this image. TFS Will

Thanks Randy, Gail and Aditya....Here is a cropped repost, I think it is better...I intentionally left the dark wall as it seemed to 'show' the snow more than the sea and sky areas. But, yes the cropped version does look better. Thanks again

Hi Will, do Gulls fly in snow - it sure looks like it. A real wintery scene, and I like the inclusion of the falling snow. Your repost works well.

Love the snow here. Fits the theme well. The repost is a improvement.

Wall is distracting as mentioned, but the repost does help to take focus of it and put it onto the bird. The blowing snow is really nice. Good for you going out under such conditions!
