I like the very handsome bird, nice texture on the breast and neck, whites are well exposed.

I like the golden water a lot and wish the water on the right side of the frame was the same color. It just is a simpler look that compliments but doesn't distract from the bird.

Personal taste really.

Hi Will, you have nailed the pose here, as well as the overall exposure. The light on the head shows up green sheen/iridescence nicely, and both darks and lights look good. I do like the small bow wave, must have been swimming very slowly. :w3

Thanks guys...I have some on all blue BG's but unfortunately not all gold...I have some nice Eider on all gold though. It was swimming slow Stu, I was trying to get low as possible in the rocks, but he spotted me, heard the camera clicking. Waited 3 hours for them to come into the harbour..So glad they did, as the tide was on its way in, and I was nearly getting wet.

Sweet Will, with just enough detail in the whites. I think it looks better without that small reflection. You should invest in one of those 'floats' for long lenses and a wetsuit for some cracking low angle shots in the harbour.

Thanks Steve and Jon....Unfortunately Steve, now and then boats, some large enter and leave the harbour...The wake from them causes quite a stir now and again...But I have deffo thought about chest waders and placing the tripod into the water....This one was HH.

I love this Will! The colors are beautiful and the blacks and whites look perfect. I never even noticed the head reflection until commented upon. I would have said leave it but the repost is definitely better.
