Hi folks ... this little chap was running fast along the shore of the Kuril Lake . He /she lost track of mum and the other two cubs , after realising the situation the cub ran fast to reach them ... and made it on time into safety .

Hope you like it .

Canon EOS 1Dx
EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
Tripod

F 5,6 / Iso 2500 ; 1/2000 sec ; well ETTR exposed ;man exp and auto Iso . With hindsight F 6,3 or F 7,1 would have been slightly better IMHO.

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2020 ; cropped to 80 % of FF ; left the leaf in .... :w3

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous posting .

Cheers Andreas

Gorgeous little bear Andreas, how come you only sharing this now? It's super cute:bg3:

Love the running pose and those feet off the ground, well captured Boetie.

Nice techs, sharp and good detail too. Yes to a bit more DoF but I gather you had no time to play around - you probably shot without support so glad you had enough SS.

Framing is great, don't mind the little leaf and I like this as presented. Especially the colour and tonality of this little one's coat, very nice work!

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week, thank you for sharing

Kind regards,

Super shot, the splashes off the paws convey the action very well. Details in the coat are good, I am assuming exposed to the right means + 2/3 stop.

A fun image for sure Andreas and I like the low POV. Agree on some more DoF which may have swallowed up any tech issues, but being back lit I would have probably shot differently, but have covered this numerous times so I'm not going to repeat myself. love the splashes of water.

Thanks so much for kind comments :bg3:

Gabriela - too many to show them all , and sometimes overlooking stuff .

Jon - even +1

Steve - was not thinking about more DOF , DOF is enough for my taste . Was thinking more of quality , when stopping down the combo of lens and TC . Light was flat as a pancake so actually no backlit , if you call the lake as backlit ok . But do not understand what you mean .... by shooting it differently ? Leave it to you ... to repeat yourself

Cheers Andreas

Andreas , for me this is a top class image. Great details and a cracking POV. nice timing to catch the action . Again excellent field craft and PP skills to produce a lovely image.

Loved it.

TFS !

Looks great all around. Nice to see that water trailing off of the front paw. Framing is right on as well. The background is another plus. Low angle another one. All around a nice one.
