I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Most years, when the Fire Flag (a.k.a. Alligator Flag) blooms the Purple Gallinules find the blossoms irresistible. The birds climb the stalks to reach the blossoms. Funny to watch as they get almost there then lose their grip on the stem to slide down and start over again. When they get high on the stem it bends making their quest easier to conquer. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated Thank you for viewing.

Very nice composition, if practicable I would go for a slightly looser crop. I find the colours are very saturated and vibrant, this masks detail particularly on the belly area.

Cool Image. I like the colors. I do not like the motion blur of feet.

Beautifully framed capture and rich colors, Joe. Like the story adding to the characters they can be.

I love everything about this one. A bit more on top would have improved it. It does not at all look over-saturated and there is so much great stuff to look at that I did not even see the motion blur in the one toe. Did anyone notice that the middle toe on the right foot seems to be upside down?

Hi Artie, thank you for commenting and viewing, much appreciated. Here is a edit and repost. I fixed the motion blur on that one toe and added canvas on the top. The toe that appears upside down isn't when looking closer. Two toes opposing, one on top of the stem and one underneath. I had to zoom up and look very closely. No one else mentioned it.

Nicely done on the added canvas -- a little bit made a huge difference.
