Here's a male Northern Harrier from last February, on a local grassland where he put on quite a show last winter. He's back this year, but I've only seen him from a distance. I know there's some noise, which I chose to leave as shown for fear of smoothing him out too much.

Nice view of this male. Really digging that two toned background. Who cares about the noise.

Very nice, Bill. I like how the bird is set against the darker background and is clear of the lighter strip at the bottom. Details look good and exposure is great. I see a hard line right next to the bird's feet - perhaps it's a cloning artifact. I don't mind the noise. Well done!

Very well done Bill...I think this is one of your best Harrier images. Love the two tone BG and colours throughout. Good work.

Great pose, I like the visible legs. Great BG and exposure. Yes to a slight head turn, but this is very nice. This guy has been much more shy this year -- in the general the activity seems a lot lower at the grasslands, not sure if its due to the warmer weather or just annual variation, but a bummer either way. Great work Bill, nice pose, lovely BG. The noise doesn't bother me here at all

Groovy. Great wing and tail positions, and nice soft background. Very good look at this beauty.

This is an excellent harrier shot.
Love the BG annd the sharpness. He positioned himself perfectly into the green part of the BG.
I am OK with the head angle myself.
I would love to have this in my files,
Gail
