From a hide. Pretty happy to get this because it was the only time any of the vultures landed on this perch. They flew to the ground 99.9% of the time and would get photobombed by the numerous black vultures.

Wow Gail pretty much perfect. Talk about a wing position doesn't get any better than this. Great primary extension colors look great. TFS

Yup, this is gorgeous! Love the wing position and outstretched legs. Great exposure and colors. I like how there's just the tiniest bit of clearance between the tree stump and the left wing. I find the comp slightly tight on the LHS and the upper-left corner, but not too bothersome. Awesome shot, Gail!

Great image Gail...always good to see images taken with the 100-400+1.4TC. I don't get many sharp images with my 7Dii+1.4.

Great talons-out landing, with perfect wing spread. I think of these guys as either on the ground or way high in the air, so it's nice to get him coming to the perch.

I like it all, very nice landing pose and perch, the habitat could have been a bit farther
away for me and I would have cloned out all the white highlights above first thing...
It may be this lens vs. your better lens but this is not tack sharp compared to most of your images.

Lovely! I prefer slightly tight crops of a good image because it shows off more detail in the bird.
Agree that it is not a sharp as usual but not a problem with this interesting bird and great pose.

love the dynamic landing pose! Good details in both whites and blacks here but I agree sharpness could be better still isn't that bad , the BG bokeh is a bit busy given the short focal length and the slow aperture, I am sure you had put the TC anticipating farther action and this one caught you by surprise, a cool shot in any case

Dynamic pose! Your timing was perfect. The BG is good but not great, but you don't have the ability to move the forest at set-ups like this. Agree the sharpness isn't perfect, but it's still really good. Perfect exposure and view of the feet!
I think you did well just to get the entire birds without clipped wings!

I like the wing position. A little bit busy background. I would sharpen the head a little bit more (Adding unsharp Mask Filter at 50 , 1, 0 helps)

Here is a repost of the FF image sharpened. Gives me more space in LUC.
