Female Bufflehead at a small local city park pond yesterday.
I do not know what I would do without a 300 f2.8 lens where I live.
The only way to do any photography in our dark pacific northwest winter is
to shoot at f2.8 and learn to process high iso files..

IQ absolutely rocks. Almost a 3D feel.
Great reflection (especially the reflection of the underside of the foot which shows the veins in the webs of the foot) , tack sharp, whites are perfect and love the water color and texture.
Absolutely no nits from me.

Stunning shot, Dan! I like how you've included the full reflection. The silky water is just beautiful. Love the trail of water behind the bird, although I'd be tempted to tone down the highlights in that region. The face is obstructed which isn't ideal and the OOF wings do distract me a little bit, but excellent work overall.

The water, splash, and reflection are money, but the obstructed face makes this tough this for me. I do like how the water changes color in the landing zone.

Very Nice Frame. I would backoff slightly from the Vignetting (Make it more subtle)
You can also remove the cyan color cast in the shadow reflection.

Excellent timing re: landing. Do wish the bill was showing. As a D500 shooter, I think you handled the high ISO very well, suspect it was very well exposed to begin with!

As Krishna mentioned, the color balance in the reflection could be tweaked a bit to remove the cast.
