Captured image last year in February on a cold overcast afternoon at a local grassland preserve. C&C welcome.

D500, Nikon 500mm f/4G + 1.4 TC, 1/1600s, f5.6, ISO 2000, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.

Slight crop, in fact if they were a little more to the left I would have liked to see them smaller in the frame.

Nice view of the habitat. I like the color contrast here - the yellow really pops against the drab, grey twigs. I wish the other bird was flying to our left, though. As is, the composition feels a bit too tight on the right as the bird doesn't have much space to fly into and there's a lot of dead space on the LHS.

Thanks Aditya. I agree with your critique. That's the full width of the frame on the right, and if I were to crop in on the left it doesn't leave the open look of the frame.

This would have been superb had you more room on the right.
Love the yellow and the pop it creates within all the branches.
This image has a really nice environmental feel. Normally I would find the BG distracting but it works in this image.

Great the way the birds' colors pop against the cold environment. Yes, it's too bad the RH bird wasn't flying in the other direction. I'd be tempted to crop some from the left, or maybe left, top and bottom, if the IQ holds up; but you may have already tried that and ruled it out.

Though very busy and taken from afar without a lot of compositional foresight, the flashes of yellow make this a really memorable frame. I also like the juxtaposition of the perched versus flying bird.

A small-in-the-frame stunner. A boxy crop here might be quite powerful ...

Like it as presented. Reminds me of a fine art style frame.
