I got this last weekend in a very cold day, it is a close up of a juvenile harrier

D500 and 600E FL f/4 + TC14-E III ISO 1600 f/5.6 at 1/3200sec hand held processed with C1P. This is almost the full frame image

Full Frame??? Wow, that is a close fly by, if you are not in a hide, you must be invisible...
The Eyeball is unbelievable.....so close it protrudes.
Surprised you got the wings in as much focus as you did at that distance.

hey Dan, I was surprised too given the EFL of almost 1200mm!

Re. harriers if you have noticed these are the juvenile birds, the chances of getting this close to an adult or a grey ghost is almost zero. I am still waiting for the day where I can get one like this from the grey ghost!

This is stunning, Arash! I'm amazed at your ability to maintain focus and track the bird at such close distances. The bird is quite large in the frame, but that's a mere observation, not a complaint :bg3: There really isn't anything to complain about IMO - pure awesomeness!

Exquisite detail. Amazing to get one this close - even a juvie. Background is sweet.

Detail on this one is great. Great background and pose. Are you on foot for these or in a vehicle?

Best detail I've seen on any harrier shot, so this is a real winner! Cab't beat that background either.

Just about perfect. Not the most detailed of critiques but all that's required this time!

What a corker. Awesome detail pose and BG. Definitely agree with you about getting the closest passes from juvis. Bit of blood on the beak is killer. Really jealous of this one, TFS.
