Chestnut-mandibled toucan

Taken at sunrise from a set-up. I found these birds usually had a very dirty bill and yellow bib so was happy to get a clean toucan!
One of the rare times the light was just right to show the black and brown/magenta on the back.
Small crop to 80% FF Nothing added or cloned but I did smooth outthe prominent branch on the left.
The sky has some grey on LHS- I did not burn that area -just looks like it.

Wonderfull capture of this great looking Toucan, Gail. Perfect angle and just the right amount of head turn. Love the perch and the background works nicely.

Looking swell Gail...The detail is awesome. Beautiful bird and perch. I see a wee bit green cast here. Maybe caused by the surrounding light. Nice work

Very nice Gail.You make a very good point about the getting All the colours right sometimes when you have strong even light and I presume not direct sunlight .Would you consider toning down the dark green branch above the birds head or even taking it out? By the way did you get your Tasmanian Hooded Plover in flight last year by any chance? love the contrasting colours in your Toucan.

Beautiful shot of beautiful bird and perch. My eyes must be really old (they are both literally and figuratively) because the difference is very subtle to say the least on my monitor. I do agree with the comment about the dark green branch above the bird's head.

As A Nikon user, when I see your work, I wonder why anyone would switch from Canon if they already have the equipment???
