These are quite rare .And this wes taken in South Australia just before Xmas on a ten mile long Beach from 4 wheel drive.at a place called Robe. I could not get lower or touch the door as she would have gone .Early morning 1/2 an inch of water glassy smooth till the next wave washes in about 15 seconds later,.and what I thought at first glance was noise is sand,
Still got to get one of these in flight !

love the light and the clean water IAn, wish you had a lower POV and the head was a bit angled towards us. details look a bit coarse and crunchy.

Beautiful bird in a nice pose. Sometimes a low POV is just not possible.

Fantastic bird to get. I bet you did a happy dance.
Sorry, I missed this image until you asked about my tassie hooded plover.
The head is not quite tack sharp. Love the still water as FG and BG.
I really like the mud drops behind the feet.
Is this a big crop? The IQ just doesn't seem to be up to your usual standard.

As a shorebird aficionado, I'd love the see and photograph this species at some point - it is so striking! I wish you'd be able to achieve a lower shooting angle, but I guess it's the best you could do from the vehicle.
IQ and sharpness aren't quite there. Shutter was plenty fas to stop the action, so it camera wasn't perfectly focused at acquisition.
