I reckon it's not too often you can get such a good clear shot of a black bear so well done. Looking carefully at his fur there seems to be some orange red there is this a genuine feature or perhaps a little colour noise?.. was he a little underexposed?
I would be tempted to tone down the tree trunk and the foreground.

Another nice bear image John. I like his walking pose and attention he gave you. Agree on the noise in fur. I prefer the earlier pose with better cleaner BG. The tree trunk is quiet dominating here.

The tree trunk and chopped stump are a problem and personally I would crop more pano from the top. As per the previous image, the bear is carrying blue in the fur and overall the image lacks the detail I would expect.

Hi John .... when leaving the tree and the tree stump aside this would be a great shot IMHO . I do like the walking pose and the bear facing the camera . But the two elements do not destroy the shot for me , darkening them might help a bit .

Technically i would again agree with Steve about the color and the details .

Hi John -- Always fascinating to read two contrasting comments , and that makes me keep realizing how subjective is this form of art. IMO, i too am fine with the tree coz you cannot always avoid such elements when out on the field. The image definitely lack those details which we have seen in your Deer images, but still the subject in your image makes this for a fine viewing .
