Hi John, a good shot of the buck sitting amidst the dried leaves and foliage. Though the BG is distracting, the colours are nice. I find the single grass twig between the horns distracting, looks like a third horn :bg3:

Hi John ... WOW getting that close to a resting deer !!! I do lift my head for your field work .
Framing and crop is working well , i do like the overall fall colouring and the tonal range . BG is busy .... yes .... but what to do ? Nothing just take the sots and be happy !!!!
Just not sure about the overall redness in the image ... but you were there .

Nice one .

John, if you go cooler on the WB, more Green, not magenta on the Tint and reduce the Vibrance you start to achieve separation between subject & environment. Where you then take is then for you to decide.
