This is one I managed to capture early frosty morning, on my way to the Glen for the Red Grouse. Handheld from the vehicle.

Soft light and background, nice head angle. The man made perch works pretty well, as it is old and weathered with some interesting lines on the left.

Would be nice to see that great tail, but not possible from your angle.

I grew up with these guys in Iowa, you would hear them cackling and see them fly in and out of the corn fields. Good memories.

Lovely 'chook'! I really like the subtle graded colours. Does look a bit soft and noisy on my screen but a bit of NR and another round of sharpening helps a bit.

Ah, yes the elusive pheasant. Nice pose on that frosty fence. Background is quite nice. Looks sharp to me.

Yes to a bit crisper but I love, love, love the mood. Love the oof grasses too.

I love the setting. The frost on the fence is so nice.
No one has mentioned this but I think the image needs to be rotated CW slightly.
Unfortunately, the bird appears a bit soft.
