This bird is normally a ground dweller...this is the first time I've seen one on the branch of a tree.
7Dii, 100-400@360mm, 1/1000th sec, f5.6, iso1000, some fill flash with the Canon 580EXii, manual mode HH. Thank you for looking...comments appreciated as always. Cheers.

A well named beauty. I like the framing with the branches and the view of the eye. The BG is killer. I only wish for a little more DOF (not for the bird but the framing branches) and a little more room all around. TFS

Paul this is great .Wind and all .I think that as David has said the BG is a killer so I reckon this frame might be even better without the branch above.Well done.

Nice pose on the bird and great background. The branch above is what it is. Nice detail on the bird.

Thank you all for the feedback.
David: I guess I should have used a smaller aperture like f8. I'll have a look at a re crop, as there's plenty of room around the bird in the raw file.
Ian: I'll try it without the branch above, but my thinking was using it as a frame, but on second thoughts it may be better without it.
John: I did clone a few distractions in the BG, so glad it wasn't ruined:S3:

Nice little bird!
I would crop out the branch at the top and then add canvas back where the branch was and use the content aware fill tool in PS CC. If you don't have PS then just clone that branch out.
The BG is lovely and I like the windblown feathers.
I would sharpen the eye area a bit more.
Good image,
Gail
