I like the pose, details, soft light and BG. It's just a bit tight in the frame for my taste and I agree on lightening the eye a bit.

Was just looking through shots made with D300's and came upon this... this is so far my favorite image on the website. I absolutely love the colors and I hope one day to take such great shots. p.s. love the bird too, hope to see one like it one day.
