Ring-billed Gull. Taken yesterday morning. Maybe a little too centered, but I don't have anything more forward in the raw file.

Absolutely fantastic! Pose, action, eye contact, prey, and lighting are all perfect. Shooting angle was ideal for reflection, and the rippled blue water around the bird is money (crop to keep it all was very wise). Best shot I've seen on this board for months.

Has so much, perfect moment, feet in running mode, great view of the fish, good contrast between bird and background, very neat.

I usually don't bother opening seagull shots, but this one is special. it has many elements to take it above the crowd of usual hovering gull shots. Action with the water splash, excellent wing position, fish with its eye visible, light, details/sharpness and the unusual brownish tones in the water and the paddling feet. Can't get much better than this

since the reflection is not sharp I'd get rid of it and put more room on the top where the bird is taking off towards

Not too far forward for me, as the water circles are an important part of the shot. The positioning of the wings and the prey take this over the top for me

I understand what you mean about the comp, but the action, fish, pose, reflection, colours all work together to make the image excellent as is. Very cool.

This is great. Love the pose and the fish of course. The reflection is another plus. Light was nice as well.
