A nice study, the comtemporary does a good job. ISO 10,000 you would never know.

ISO 10.000, WOW! Looking at your images I see clearly you are not put off by lighting conditions or bad weather, well done :cheers:

Well exposed and well framed, subject looks good with nice detail where it matters most, colours look natural. Love those bits of grass on the antlers.

I used to shoot hand held too...but lately the 500 lens feels a wee heavy and I cannot hold it for long periods of time...old age... or maybe lack of practice?:bg3:

Hi John, overall, the colour/WB is looking better, but a tad more NR I feel on the BKG. I know you are pushed on ISO, but again a little more DoF for the muzzle, it's not a sharpening element I feel, but some more selective sharpening really helps.
