Hi John, a nice head shot and good detail, like the moisture in/on the whiskers.

Again, the BKG needs some NR and I would crop just above the hint of back, 16x10 works. Personally I think it's a wee bit too saturated and I feel the WB needs to go a tad warmer and the Tint more to the LHS to balance out, then you can teweak if need be. Here I would treat the subject and BKG as two, I've explained lots of times so no need to rehash. I can't teach you using the Tonal Curve in LR, but it will help you as the contrasts just again masking the fine detail, sharpening is about right then. You must have been very close as you start to runout of DoF, just the tip of the front ear is bringing to go, again check you camera for DoF.

This is a beautiful image the subject is packed with detail. My immediate reaction was the background noise detracts from the beautiful doe.
The doe looks very nice as is but even more detail becomes apparent if you go into curves, John I really would spend some time at the raw stage having another look, this is an exceptionally good image.
