Spent some time at a local marsh last weekend, and the Killdeer were quite busy. These fast flyers are always a challenge to photograph in flight, so I was happy to get this frame.

Canon D850, 600mm + 1.4x, f/5.6, 1/3200, ISO 500, hand held, manual exposure

Hi Doug. Very nice! SH look good, BG contrasts nicely with the bird, which is sharp. Canon D850? (Nikon) TFS

Wing position on the bird is nice. Background looks good.

Doug I think I would have been pretty pleased with that one too! I think the moment has been caught beautifully, the exposure looks spot on and the head position ideal, the background really couldn't be much better.
The image looks excellent, I don't know if you would wish to consider lowering the brightest highlights, I personally think it improves an already superb image very slightly.

These guys are really tough to catch in flight. This is very nice, with decent wing position and lovely background. Well done.

I suppose a Canon D850 is better than a Nikon 1DX:t3. I'd be pretty happy with this too - they are swift flyers. Sweet light!

What can I say Daniel? Old habits are hard to break!

Very nice and sharp with a killer background and light. Nice pose on the bird as well.

sweet shot with dynamic wing positions and awesome details. D850 is killer for these small birds in flight

Belen Marsh. Are we going to shoot together one of these days?

These guys are hella fast, so this represents a fine effort! Perfect lighting, wing pose, and eye contact make for a memorable image. Would love to see it with a few points of black to make the breast bands pop a bit more.
