Yesterday I decided to go to a local grassland area in search of reported Sedge Wren, with no luck. I'll take this guy any day as a consolation. Though the House Wren is quite common in these parts, I don't recall seeing one waring gray underpinnings, and auricular. C&C welcome.

I like the pose, BG and composition. I would tone down the perch a bit. How do you like the 500 PF?

Nice and sharp.
A rather plain looking bird for a wren!
I would warm the image up slightly.
I see some cloning marks LLC and would fix that in PP.
I like your choice of comp.

Such a stern glare---reminds me of my Gr. 12 latin teacher. I feel a bit abashed to say this 'cause I'm no good at it myself, but it would have been nice if you could have adjusted position to get the hi-light greens in the BG out of the shot.

Love the alert pose. Good sharp detail. I agree that toning down the perch might be in order. This one does look more grey than those that I'm used to seeing around here. I also went in search of the Sedge Wren, with no luck. My consolation was the gorgeous fields of yellow flowers in the morning fog at sunrise. I think I heard this little wren scolding from somewhere in the bushes.

Thanks Jim. I agree with you.

In answer to your question, I'm liking the 500 PF a lot.

Looks pretty spot on. Like the head on look. Nice diaganol perch. Sharpness is there.

Yes to the suggestions you've had so far. This looks like a rather angry bird...or at the very least a little grumpy!
