Taken this summer, I thought this image made a very nice display of the birds feather arrangement.

D4. 600 f/4. ISO 400 1/1250s. Taken from the bottom of my loon boat, the Loonatic.

Slight crop to level, added sliver of canvas on the left.

Advice and comments appreciated.

Cheers

Beautiful low angle with great symmetry, and I applaud the effort to get something different. The plumage is beautiful, but I do really miss the bird's face. The image is pretty but lacks connection without the eyes.

Very unique shot Randy! The plumage is wonderful but as Dorian has mentioned, eye contact would've been awesome. I wish the BG was smoother but not a deal breaker. The touch of blue in the water is nice.

Thanks for your honest input.

The challenge is that this wing display shot is impossible to get with good eye contact. Occ. you will get a nice head twist, but the eyes are usually closed and still not facing you. I have a few conventional loon shots in my files, so like to try to expand my coverage a bit.

Cheers

It's nice to see something different. The pattern on the wings is very neat. The crop is well done. Low angle is right on.
