An Australian Pied Oystercatcher rock-hopping. Been trying to get a shot of this for a while. Not thrilled about the bird angle slightly away but difficult to get light, wings and angle coming together.

Hi Colin. Very nice capture! It does look a little soft to me though, and maybe it could use a little more room to the left and above the wing, but that's a nit pic...I'd be happy with that one! Well done.

Looks good to me, I am happy with the angle and composition. I think I would reduce contrast slightly

Congrats on getting the shot you were working for!
Looks sharp to me but image is quite contrasty due to higher sun angle.
I agree with Jonathan re:reducing contrast and perhaps warming the image up slightly,

Very nice landing shot. I'm glad you left the rock in. I like the striated BG. I'm fine with the angle, and the bird's head focused on his landing zone. I'm also OK with the comp. Maybe just a tad more sharpening on wing and body?

Great timing and pose and a good self-critique. Yes to less contrast as the BLACKs look like enamel ...

Wing position is nice. A bit more sharpening on the wings and head will really help the image (If raw is sharp).

All good stuff above that I won't repeat. Good job with the colour of the eye and bill.

Very nice pose on the bird. Detail looks pretty good. Really like the ripples in the water background.
