I shot this photo in Chicago. It is called the eye. It is a polished oblusk (?) in Millenium Park. Shot with a 28-135mm not a fisheye. You can see people underneath the middle. Quite a fabulous piece of art.

Al, This is in downtown Chicago near the lake in Millennium Park. I would have liked to shoot it facing east early in the morning to get a great skyline shot but found out about it the day before we left. Something to go back for. I did get some shots of the skyline, but the sun created a hot spot, but still is awesome. Anybody up for a field trip? Chicago has great architecture!!

Hey Richard,
to me it looks almost like Dragonfly eyes and mouth............and what's reflected in it if we got really close! Neat stuff!

Richard,
Not sure who told you this was called the eye--many people in Chicago simply call it "The Bean" (I lived in Chicago for a year), but the official name of the polished titanium sculpture is the "Cloud Gate." (http://www.millenniumpark.org/artandarchitecture/cloud_gate.html) Standing underneath it, like you did for this presentation, is indeed a lot of fun! Which of the figures in the middle of the image is you?

Cheers,
David

Thanks David for the info. It was the cab driver who dubbed this beauty "The Eye". I should have known, since when does a cab driver now the correct name of points of interest, lol. I believe i'm in the middle just below the V.
