Size and talons is not all that counts I guess. I've seen this behavior many time, but too far to capture. I was very happy when it happened twice!

Great behavior captured, I like the pose and open beak. It looks as if the kite keeps an eye on the blackbird. :)

Awesome capture Fab. Love the wonderful action and the open beak on the female kite. That RWBB really gives her quite a bit of harassment. Your timing was perfect !!!!

Hi Fab,

I like this one. This image tells the story. Love the head turn and open beak!

Really like this example of David and Goliath, although in this case Goliath eats snails not redwings! Terrific capture Fabs and your timing is impeccable.

BTW this is a good example of a behaviour that really doesn't make much sense but it happens anyway. Snail Kites are really no threat to redwings. However, simple rule of thumb for a redwing- attack anything that flies like, looks like or in any way resembles a hawk-like bird, and ask questions later.

I like the action and the story telling shot, althought the reds looks a little over staurated. Other than that, I love it!!! Congrats!

Great behavioral shot Fabs. Ramon has a good point about the reds there.

Fantastic Fabiola. Maybe more room at the left? Love the pose of both birds and the almost audible screaming face of the kite. I love it

Hi Fabs,
I actually got to witness this behavior this morning..........but with Osprey! Gotta love the guts of the RWBB!
This works for me probably even better than seeing the RWBB in focus..........Gives the look of what the eye would see and a sense of place. Love this one!
