What a cool bird!
I like your crop and the whites look great. Perfect head turn.
I have never seen this bird IRL so wonder about the blacks and the magenta/purple I see in the feathers. Details in the whites look great but not the blacks. Did you have to lift exposure for the blacks?

So nice Colin, yes to the detailed whites, HA, and your crop/placement. I think there is a bit of noise that could get reduced in the blues. Also, there is a faint lighter ?catchlight below the catchlight? TFS

Thanks for the comments and observations. Not sure about that hue in the blacks, could be a refraction effect from the direct sunlight, only used S&H @ 35. But the blacks don't show that hue in softer light. Anyway here's a re-work removing the hue, a touch of Neat Image on the blues and removing that minuscule catch light remnant!

Very nice image with the feathers up on the head. The blue background is great.
