One of the earlier plants to flower in a prairie. The fruits have a "feather duster" appearance, giving the impression of smoke.
Canon 7DII + 180/3.5 + tripod
f/8, 1/250. ISO 800

The feathers look very good and DOF is pretty much optimal, I like the composition. The red sepals and stem make a nice contrast.
When I look I ask myself was the stem really so dark was the base of the head so dark also? Maybe the Nik filter had something to do with that??

Yes. the sepals and the stem are deep red with a pink hue. I desaturated a little after using NIK. Nik didn't deepen the color much. The day was also cloudy, further saturating the colors.

Looks quite good. Nice background and i like the vertical framing.
