Hi all,

I ducked out after work to a local birding spot 10 minutes from home and was pleasantly surprised to see RBEs in abundance feeding on insects. Lighting conditions were quite good but dimmed quickly. Here's a sample from the series I captured :)

Oh my, that is a beauty and I don't know that there is any way to improve on it. If any thing, maybe a bit lighter in the beak area to bring it out of the bg, but I am not possitive. Love the complimentary background.

Thank you Carole, yes I agree the beak lightened up should improve it.

Stunning image William... Hard for me to imagine how it might be improved upon. Clarity, detail, color, BG all superb. Because the body is situated in the frame the way it is, the fact the eye is in the center doesn't bother me personnally.... Nor does the little hint of tail feather extending down into the LL corner.

And only 10 minutes from your house! Can't beat that!

Really beautiful bird and image... Nicely done.

Hi William,
Look great on my monitor! Not that distracted by 2 catchlights........but an easy fix for an outstanding image!

Great details, pose and eye contact. Another vote for removing one of the catchlights and I might try to lighten the BG a bit for more bill/BG separation. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!

Spectacular light and spectacularly sharp. I wish only for a lighter, more consistent BKGR. Not to mention a killer bird and a perfect specimen. If you could have gotten one foot higher that would have placed the head against the lighter portion of the BKGR.
