I usually do birds but once in will I'm doing marco... As I was setting up to photograph this spider, it's catch a fly by jumping on it. I was happy because it's add more drama to this picture...

Thanks for looking...

Hey Francis, I think you did a nice job, good details on the head area, the color really pops. I think a higher f/stop would have been nice for some extra focus in the rear legs. Well done.

THis is very cool and well composed.

Francis, since you are using the Mark III, I think that Mike's idea on more DOF is a good one. Make this image then go to f/16 and up the ISO. You could go 1000, 1250 or 1600 here with the bright yellows and not have a serious noise issue at all since you have no large dark areas.

Beautiful image Fancis! I agree about it needing a little more DOF. You did a really nice job of capturing a dramatic moment.

Agree with previous and would suggest a slight contrast boost Excellent catch and sweet setting !!!

Hey Francis,
Possible mprovements mentioned. I own the Mark 3 and with this color BG you don't have to worry about the noise too much. I still love the action and pose!

Great action and the focus is right on the eyes where it needs to be.

I really enjoy threads like this I dont at all agree with the previous posts :^O

Who in the world cares about more detail an inch behind the subject and the action.....someone explain that one :) Why are you guys thinking more DOF????

For me there are 2 problems.
I would like to see more room at the bottom.
then even more importantly the OOF focus front leg is a little bit of a image killer for me. If I would have seen this image on my LCD screen I would immediately take a step to the right. Why? to put the 2 front legs more parallel and to put more of the prey in view.

ISO 25000 and F64....not for me thank you.
