Nice subject and nice IQ.
I would enhance the catchlight and go to 16X9 with some off the top.

Detail looks pretty good considering you were up against it with light. I might move him up a bit to fill the upper part of the frame and exaggerate the foreground bokeh.

John great shot and details look great. I saw where Dan suggested enhancement of the catch light. I guess you could but only slightly, as you shot in this low soft light. Looks natural and I like the softness of it. You could go either way but again too much wouldn't look right.
Little noise in the background. TFS

Great shot John! Love the soft light and the dirty beak. I would suggest cloning out some of the distracting OOF debris. I agree with Dorian's suggestion to move the bird upwards but I also like the composition as is.
