Common Redpoll #2

Here's another frame of the Common Redpoll we came across. It might have been better had he perched in the open spot, but he didn't stay in one place for long and never quite where I wanted him. You can see the many midges for which Lake Myvatn is notorious.

Like the pose on the bird and the perch it is on. Wish the bird would have been in the gap to the left. The leaves are just too close to the bird for me.

Hi Bill,
I am not loving this one.
As you said, it would have been so much better had he perched in that opening between the leaves.
The bird looks a bit crunchy to me.

Those leaves behind the redpoll are unfortunate, and I do find the subject a touch dark as well (some fill would have been nice here). Redpolls are always fun though, and it is interesting to see the midges as you point out.
