From Flatey Island. From where I was sitting (for a long time), it was tough to get a good view of the chick. The male would arrive from his foray into the ocean and give the food to the female, who would prepare it and give it to the chick. The chick was generally hidden under the grasses and would usually emerge only when the food came. After he appeared he was most often obscured by a rock or the parent. Dim light; large crop.

Excellent behavior and very cute. I don't know if there's any way to lighten up the oyster catcher without losing the depth of black in the plumage.

Wonderful parent/chick interaction you captured Bill, I like how we can see the morsel of food as the parent uses their pointy beak as an indicator! Great to see this, TFS

The interaction is great and i like the framing. The image looks like a tricky one in post.

Nice work waiting this one out Bill----and for a large crop you've got pretty good feather detail here.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/ee3d5ef2/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/ee3d5ef2/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Well done, Bill. I like the tight crop bringing us close to the transfer of the food bit. Nice detail as well.
