I captured this one from a boat, as the bird was returning to the Bass Rock with nesting/courtship material.

The nesting material really makes this one, composing nicely with the bird. Good high key exposure (nape may be just a tad hot?). Good flight pose. If mine I would add a 1 px border.

I quite like this ( even if it is high key!)
I would select the vegetation only and increase the saturation.
Great wing position and very nice look at the eye.
I think Bill's suggestion of a border is really good.

Okay so what is a 1 px border? Terrific Will, i love the seaweed and how the gannet is clenching its beak at the very end for one more blade of dried grass perhaps. There is a slight window one can see through between the seaweed and the end of the beak. Wow. Lovely and wonderful wing details.

Nice mouthful this gannet has. Fits the theme well. High key treatment is very nice as well. Pose is right on.

Hi Artie, thanks for that. It was the boat(60 seater, tourist boat) belonging to the Seabird Centre. You get a two hour trip around the Bass...No landings.
