I captured this image driving along Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, Apopka, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Great shot, Joe. Love the frontal stare and pose, and lovely BG. Might also work well as a vertical, although I like it as posted.

Nice dead on look this juvenile gave you. I would be tempted to at least try and move the sticks on the right side of the bird.

Hi John, the sticks on the right side are easily removed. I made them part of the image because I think they add balance to the image, without them the image feels heavy on the left side unless the bird is placed dead center. Here is a edit without the sticks, I also cleaned up the background a bit. The image in this post to me feels heavy to the left side. Nothing to balance the bird. Also I think the image appears sanitized.

Here is the image as a vertical. In this format the sticks had to go.

Hi Joe,

Here's a vote for your original post, and this vertical crop, but would leave the background as in the OP. Love the intense stare right at you, fine detail, and a bit of the right talon gripping the perch.
