Terrific highlight/shadow play with a great composition and just the right depth of field. I'd probably rotate ia bit to get the main bud out of the center.
A family jewel :)

Hi James,
Very well handled and composed. I like Fabs idea of a bit of CCW rotation just to get the top bud out of dead center. Even still..........this is very nice!

Very nice rose with the buds surrounding it. The flower looks great. I would like to see either more leaves filling the black space or less leaves simplifying the background, if that makes sense. But I know that sometimes we have to work with what we got.

Hey Jim, it was nice meeting and talking to you at the show, hope you ended with good numbers on sales. I agree with John on the exposure, very nice light. Also agree with others on a slight rotation. Dew drops add a real nice touch.

Lovely image! You caught one sweet ray of light there! Beautifully done.

I like it for all the reasons mentioned and agree with the rotation suggestion.
I felt that it was a bit too low in contrast to me and ran a local contrast enhancement action on it based on a high-pass smart filter adjustable for both opacity and blending mode. I am interested if you like or dislike the effect.

It's very subtle but I like it Robert!

The difference as Julie said is subtle but I like it also. Jim
