Now that the judging is complete for the IFC Pro Tour Contest in TX I feel I can start posting some more images shot during the event. This image was not used in my final portfolio. I choose 60 including 15 bird images from the 15000+ I took duirng the month long contest

This oriorle was photographed from my special flycatcher blind. Had a special setup to attract insect eating birds. This image was taken just as the sun cleared the brush..

Canon Eos 1D3, EF600mmF4IS, ISO 400, 1/640 @ F4, +1/3 comp in AP, no crop.

I like the perch a lot. It appears natural enough. The orange is nicely contrasted with the hues of browns and greenish tones of the background. The back side is displayed with nice details too. The head turn is nice, just might be a different enough pose to go with the prancing strut of the bird. I like it.

Very nicely framed, with great light and great pose to display the markings.

Lovely light composition and head pose. I find the branch in the BG a little distracting but very nice as presented.

Great light, pose, details and exposure control. I don't find the OOF leaves distracting.

I hadn't realized how beautiful these birds were until i saw one in breeding plumage for the first time this year. Little bit of a head turn...........maybe........do really like it as is ........including the OOF leaves.
