A road-side encounter and one of my favourite raptors to photograph. First sighted perched in a tree beside the road, this beauty let me pull over on a field access road and grab several perched images before taking wing and giving me a nice pass-by. Wing position is optimal and like the head position and eye contact. TFS

Nice sharp image with good wing position. You might want to clean up the dark halo around the tail and upper wing feathers.
Not sure if this is considered chromatic aberration, but I see it in some of my images also.

Agree that there is a sharpening halo. This is not chromatic aberration.
Did you know you can post larger 1920 pixels by 1200? Bigger is always better for my old eyes!:bg3:

Lighting and detail are really nice. Eye contact is great. Agree about the tail halo should be fixed. Would love to see more of that second/right wing. As is, the pose/image lacks depth.

Thanks to you all for pointing that dark shadow out as it is something I hadn't noticed. I hope I've corrected it ( interestingly, with the clarity slider--took me a while to find that after messing around with the saturation and luminance sliders of blue in HSL ) with this repost.---which I sized as suggested Gail.
