Always stoked when I fire off a few rounds at a bird I can't immediately identify. My first image of a Golden-winged warbler.
I'm towards the western fringe of their migration zone. I've never see one before. I don't know if they're just not that common
or difficult to image but as far as I can tell the last time an image of one was posted on this forum was in 2008. If this was a
bird I already had a number of images of, I probably would have deleted it. Wrong side of the branch and I had to remove
quite a bit of background clutter. Straight size reduction.

As a birder first and an avian photographer as a close second I can completely understand. Wrong side of the branch aside, this is a great look at this beauty. Wonderful details and color and a fine BG. If you didn't mention the clutter I wouldn't have known from the image. Congrats. TFS

Congratulations! A warbler I would love to get. Self-critique noted, but I would be thrilled to have this in my files until a better shot could be had, which could be a long wait.

Thanks for sharing a look at this species.
It looks like the light was dead on too. Always something....
I would keep this is a second.

Sweet image with excellent detail on the bird itself. Even with the fat branch I like it. Only thing I might do is try to clone some of the in focus texture over the out of focus aspect of the branch obstructing the top of the bird, at least to see if it helped the comp. Just a thought.
