Taken with last light leaving the beach... I love the light and the the showcased plunge of this reddish egret who seconds earlier had flown in to be with his mate after strutting upon arrival.

Great frame. The bird gave you a very nice pose with a nice head angle. Sweet light as well. Low angle is another plus.

Very nice. Light is about as nice as it gets.
Like Bill Dix's earlier photo, I am a fan of the "eye" in the center comps.
I think they work well to draw you in and this does.
Splash is nice. 3d processing is excellent.

Ann:

Great angle, like the wing framing the head, late day light.

Interesting how to crop this one, because of the way the reflection is. I tried doing a quick scroll crop, but believe you have the best option displayed.

Cheers

This is wonderful. I love the wing framing the shaggy head, the colors, the splash. Well done!

What a beauty, Ann. Like the late sun, the splash, and the wings in that unique position. There are other birds that do this I think to cut the glare on the waters surface.

Classic big red pose. Love Love Love that sharp eye and frozen water. The reflection is killer. The wing primaries, just sublime. Congrats. TFS

In addition to the excellent avian aspects, I really like the curves in this image - the curve of the left wing, and particularly the way the water drops curve up to join the curve of the end of the feathers.

Brilliant shot Ann. Love the clarity, FFD, post sunset colours, bird's crest, water droplets. Inspirational!

Lovely. I could see a version with some of the FG cropped out.

Pretty much perfect for me Ann, stunning light and colours on the bird and the timing is spot on. Sure you needed to switch systems!?!
