View Full Version : Leucistic RRWB in flight

At least that is what I am going with..
It had full adult red patches as you can see, white tail feathers
and the breast (not shown here) was brown and spotted like a RWBB female.
Hopefully a real birder will weigh in...
I took it this morning, I may have the local Audubon look at the photos.
It was a strange looking Blackbird.

D500, 420mm (300 w/ 1.4), 1/2500, f4.5, iso720

Whatever the variation, you have a beautiful image here. Love the top view,SH, EXP(especially with added white challenge) and BG. A slight head turn your way would be nice, but I love it as is. TFS

Nice and sharp. The dorsal view is nice. Like the two toned background. This might be a immature male.

cool view of the topside Dan! I might try to reduce the contrast a bit and get more details in both blacks and whites, a slight head turn would have been ideal but you did well with a tough subject

Cool! It does look a like a partially leucistic individual. Even the breast is "whiter" than a female's. Good job getting these flight images.
