I need to start shooting more shorebirds Have plenty of opportunities. Just not real familiar with different species. Lots look the same. I thought this was a yellow leg originally.
Processed in Dpp 4 and photoshop. Thanks for comments and critiques.

Looking good. Nice light with a nice feeding pose. Like the composition and the reflection.

Kevin:

Nice reflection, pose, exposure. Good shooting angle.

Because of the reflection, and the downward pose, I could see a vertical version for this one. Personal taste, but I don't think the large amount of negative space on left adds much.

Cheers

I would go vertical.

Killer dead-perfect reflection. And yes to a bit less room in front.

Where and when was this bird photographed?

Superb shot!
The light, exposure and reflection is perfect! The catchlight is right in the center and the eye contact is superb too. I would go vertical with this one too, if it wouldn't result in a big crop that is.

Very nice indeed Kevin, I think it looks great, having said that I cannot help but think you could get more detail considering the kit used (??)

Lovely light, low angle, reflection is perfect. I like the crop, give a sense of space. On my screen it looks a tiny bit soft, maybe another round of sharpening is needed?

Vertical would be OK I guess, but the pose, reflection, and size of the bird all make me want to prefer it as an horizontal, but with the subject not as close to the right edge. I love everything else, very nice reflection image.
