This frame represents 48% of the original frame, so it was cropped 52%. I always get confused about how to word that so I decided to make it a bit redundant :S3: As I have mentioned I have been concentrating on shooting waterfowl before they leave my area for the season. I have already posted a flight shot of a female Bufflehead. I was thrilled to finally be able to get close to one on the water. I had the 500PF in my hands and was shooting flight shots while seated at the edge of the water. When I saw this female quite a ways out, rather than risking getting the 600 I just laid down and hoped that she would not mind me and come close. Guess it was the right move as she came close enough. I shot this wide open to get the best background that I could get and laid down as low as possible as well. My neck hurt afterwards but it was well worth the effort.

Isaac, this is superb and quite outstanding, congrats. The smallest and fastest ducks here on the East Coast and notoriously hesitant and shy, your strategy paid off to lie down and wait. The detail is over the top, HA perfect, exposure spot on, POV, and a lovely BG... The best of this species i've seen. Wow! Almost forgot, love the water droplets.

Yeah, this is killer, Isaac. Super cute with great details throughout. Only suggestion I have is to move her up a bit in frame, but that's more personal preference than anything else. Top just feels a bit empty to me.

Perfection, right down to the view to feathers through the bow wave. I like the room at top given the wonderful OOF water.
