Taken from car window, taken on the edge of a meadow.

So perfect, I would have thought a set up...
Love the perch, pose , even the slight wing blur.

I had in fact baited a set up nearby for linnets, I think this stonechat just dropped in to investigate, this was a stray twig on a nearby bush.

Beautiful detail in the feathers Jon, complemented by the soft light. I would have preferred slightly more saturated colours, but that is just a personal taste thing. Like the diagonal composition

Hello Jon, very nice capture of the stonechat, I like the balancing act; was this a take-off ? The details and the clean BG make this a pleasure to view.

Thanks Ann, yes this was take off, I was lucky, he took off almost immediately after he landed.

I like it! The straight out wings is not something often seen in small songbirds. Smooth BG looks great, and the think zig-zagging perch pretty cool.
